Dental (Oral) Implants
These are metal replacement roots which allow crowns and bridges to be fitted. Implants can also be used to secure dentures. Implants are a considerable investment in time and money for patients: you may wish to have implant treatment by Peter as he has undergone extensive surgical training enabling him to carry out dental implant work to a very high standard.
Benefits Of Dental Implant Treatment
Implants can provide you with cosmetic fixed-teeth therby avoiding removable dentures in many patients. For some patients full dentures are the only option - implants can be used to make sure that dentures have excellent grip.
The loss of natural teeth usually causes the supporting jaw-bone to shrink ('bone disuse atrophy'). This ultimately leads to changes in the facial appearance. Only tooth replacement by dental implants can stop this shrinkage and this explains why increasing numbers of patient choose dental implants over other methods of tooth replacement.
If you have irreparably damaged or missing teeth due to an accident, injury or dental disease, these can be replaced by dental implants. Bone lost through dental disease or injury can be rebuilt by a variety of techniques.
Dr. Young provides treatment ranging from the replacement of one missing tooth to major re-building of severely damaged jaws and teeth.
