FAQ: HOW  CAN I MAKE DENTAL IMPLANT TREATMENT LESS EXPENSIVE?

1. Come To See Us As Soon As Possible

Ideally you come to see us as soon as possible BEFORE  the tooth or teeth are extracted. The techniques used to extract teeth have a major impact on your implant treatment. Using the correct gentle extraction technique can save your bone and gum tissue thereby making implant treatment simpler and less expensive.

 2. Undergo the prompt removal of loose or infected teeth

It is important that teeth which are loose are removed as soon as possible to prevent bone damage. Keeping loose or infected teeth will result in severe bone loss as shown below:

Severe bone + gum  loss occurred due loose teeth being left in place too long + gum disease was not diagnosed.

 3. Undergo Prompt Implant Treatment

The idea time to place an implant is usually 2-4 weeks after extraction. Placing an implant at this time reduces bone loss and gum shrinkage. Many patients delay seeking implant treatment and this delay often  makes implant treatment more complicated and more expensive.

Some dentists advise patients to wait several months before seeing an implant dentist. As a general rule this is poor advice as prompt treatment usually gives better cosmetic results and is less expensive.

 4. Ask To Be Treated By Dr Young As A Demonstration Case

If you will allow dentists to observe you being treated by Dr Young, the costs will be reduced and you will receive treatment at a reduced cost without compromising the quality of care provided. Please note that we can only offer this at certain times of the year when the students need to be taught.

5. Ask for the implant (s) to be restored with a temporary crown if the implant is not too visible. The implant(s) can be restored with a high end cosmetic crown at a later date. It is a good way of getting the implant treatment and thereby preserving the bone and gum yet deferring the full costs until a later date.
